The UA Veterans in Piping (VIP) Program offers free skills training and guaranteed job placement to active-duty military service members who are preparing to transition out of the armed forces.
The VIP Program provides 18-weeks of highly specialized and highly intensive training to help transitioning service members gain marketable skills in the following pipe trades: welding, heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) and sprinkler fitting.
Upon successful completion of the VIP Program, graduates are guaranteed direct entry into a United Association apprenticeship program and a job with an affiliated UA signatory contractor – all in an agreed upon geographic location. These jobs with UA signatory contractors provide UA VIP graduates with good livable jobs, healthcare and retirement benefits. As an apprentice, UA VIP graduates receive industry-leading training to help them become a journeyman.
